Today, at noon GMT, Agile has passed over the Ground Station in Malindi after 100 orbits since its launch one week ago. The on-board and ground data communications and control systems worked nominally in all 100 passes, allowing to carry out all the planned operations. In particular, the Attitude Control System (ACS) has been successfully setup. Since last friday, the satellite attitude is controlled in “FINE SUN POINTING” mode. The ACS is featuring excellent performances: one order of magnitude better than expected. Today, the activities of the platform commissioning will be completed. Next wednesday, all the Agile detectors will be switched on to start the Payload Commissioning phase.
