{mosimage}The advanced technology involved in Planck satellite opens new opportunities for companies operating in the field of mm-wave technologies. The WIC (W-band Imaging Camera) project was born as one of the possible spin-off, based on the technology transfer of Planck. The aim of this project is to develop a mm-wave imaging camera. A key part of WIC project is the design of a compact and low cost antenna suitable for development of a commercial product. In this paper, the overview of the WIC project is presented. The adopted solution for the prototype is a mechanical beam scanning reflect array antenna. The antenna optimal configuration for WIC has been derived as a trade off between the image quality needed and cost.
