{mosimage}[[nasa]]’s [[Swift_Gamma-Ray_Burst_Mission|swift]] satellite confirms the “amati relation”, that is the correlation between [[Gamma_ray_burst|grb]] peak frequency and their total energy. this correlation plays a fundamental role in our understanding of [[Gamma_ray_burst|grbs]], the most violent phenomena which can be observed in the universe. it has been discovered in 2002 by a team of astrophysics under the supervision of lorenzo amati, scientist at iasf-bo, using data from the Italian-Dutch satellite [[BeppoSAX]].

the paper which confirms the “amati relation”, and indirectly the excellent level of italian leading role in the study of gamma ray bursts, has been published last January on Apj Letters.
